When was Volleyball Invented ?

Volleyball has a fact and history of 119 years. In 1985, William G., a sports instructor at the YMCA in Massachusetts. Morgan invented the game of volleyball.

Morgan wanted to invent such a game. Contains elements of basketball, tennis, baseball and handball and little physical contact. Volleyball was initially called “Minnet”. But when Morgan noticed that players often use a volley to score points from front and back on the net.

So he changed the name to ‘Volleyball’. The first official volleyball game was played on July 7, 1896 at Springfield College, Massachusetts.
